Why don't some schools teach everything?
"Sex education in The United States is a patchwork of state and local policies... and as a result, (sex ed) is largely influenced by the zip code young people live in." - The SEICUS article below
We'd really encourage you to read these:

Is our school doing a bad job?
No, absolutely not. They're probably doing a GREAT job, with what they're up against. But sex ed is a very personal thing. Some parents want more. Some want less. Some want it earlier. Some want it later.
So, how do you keep every parent happy? Well, the truth is, you can't. But you can definitely put parents in the driver's seat, with Comedy Sex Ed. -
Why comedy?
The comedy -- hopefully -- makes dry, technical information feel a little more approachable. But this is NOT funny in the same way their favorite YouTuber is funny. That's not a realistic goal for educational content. You will simply NOT get a 12-year-old boy to love a mandatory course.
-
How long does it take to complete?
There are 12 lessons. And each lesson takes about 20 minutes to complete. But every kid is different. And completion times may vary.
You'll also find a Discussion Guide that helps you follow up after each lesson. And the length of that discussion is completely up to you. -
How long do we have access?
Customers will have access for 90 days. But this will NOT take 90 days to complete... not even close. The 90 day window is to allow for different learning styles, busy schedules, and retaking the course, if desired, to bolster comprehension.
-
Why is it just for boys?
This course was written by a guy, so it made sense to start there. But if people want a course for girls, let us know. And we'll collaborate with a woman who can help us get it right.
-
Why is it text-based?
Video can "seem nice," for some. But when it's done right, it's actually really expensive. It forces a fixed pace. And honestly...
...it's easy to sit back, zone out, and let the video play in the background. But with a text-based model, you get a few major wins:
- Text invites a more active form of learning
- It allows kids to go at their own pace
- It gives you the same trusted guidance at a much lower price
That's why Comedy Sex Ed encourages kids to read. You know, like our ancestors used to do. -
What if my son won't take this?
Honestly? That's between you two, hahahha. We can't "make" a kid do anything. But maybe you can.
Parents have been making kids do stuff since the beginning of time. Do the dishes. Do your homework. Take this course so you don't ruin your life.
But hey -- you know your son. And if you can't make him do stuff, you know that. Unfortunately, that's not refundable. -
REFUNDS - Refund Policy & How to Apply
This is a parenting tool. So, we can't refund your money if your son hates this course, or refuses to take it. He's 12. He'll hate ANY mandatory course you ask him to take on a Saturday, hahhaha.
The refund window is so you can review what you're showing him. So, review the course. If you decide NOT to show it to your son -- like any part of it -- you can request a full refund within 3 days of purchase.
Here's how:
EMAIL: contact [at] nickwritesstuff.com
SUBJECT: Refund Request
EMAIL BODY: "Hi Nick, I know this refund is on the honor system. And I was told my son would hate this — so I know that's not refundable. On my honor, I confirm that I did not show this course — or any part of it, however brief — to my son. And I'd like to request a refund. My order number is: ___"
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? Once we receive your email, we will process the refund within 5 business days.
TIMING: It usually takes 10 business days for the funds to appear on your statement.
FEEDBACK: If you’re open to it, we’d love to know why the course wasn't a fit. But feedback is optional and won't affect your refund.
ABOUT THE 3-DAY WINDOW: This gives you time to review the course, before you show it to your son. If you don't have time, no worries! Totally get it. Just wait to buy the course until you have time to review.
